Winter Wonderland
Well, it snowed again. But what do you expect, right? I mean, we do live in Wisconsin and all. The weatherman said 2-4 inches, then 4-6 inches and finally settles on 7 and 1/2 inches. And I really hate to shovel snow. But every time I'm out there shoveling, I do think about my dad.
We lived in an old farm house that had one of those 30 foot long country gravel driveways that would drift full, and my dad would have to get up while it was pitch dark out to dig a path to the garage so he could get to work on time. I can still see him cutting out a block of snow with that big shovel of his and throwing it over his shoulder for a hundred miles or so. And he never seemed like he got tired digging. On the weekends my older sister and I would go out and help for about 3 or 4 shovels full and then start digging tunnels or making snow angels. That was a long time ago.
So, I shovel snow, I think about my pop. I guess that’s not too bad….
